INTRODUCTION
TO VALLEY CATS
Welcome
to Valley Cats, an all volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit
cat rescue organization. We are so happy that you
wish to help our furry friends find homes.
Without dedicated volunteers, like you, we would not
be able to accomplish our goals.
We
are a group of professional adults who started Valley
Cats in January 2001. We have over 40 years of
combined rescue experience and knowledge.
Each
and every week our Foster Moms open their homes to
frightened, sick or injured kitties. The
kitties are checked for parasites, fleas, ear mites,
or other external conditions that may need a
Veterinarian's attention. Then our
Veterinarians combo test each kitty for Feline Aids (FIV)/
Feline Leukemia (FeLV), and perform the spay or
neuter surgery. Our Foster Moms administer the
necessary medications and provide a safe, warm, and
loving environment until the kitties are ready to go
to adoption. At adoption day the Adoption
Counselors answer questions and try to match the
unique personality of each kitty with their
prospective adoptor.
We
adopt our kitties at the Ahwatukee PETCO store on Ray
Road and I-10 every Saturday from 11am-5pm and every
Sunday from 2-5pm. We also adopt from the
Chandler PETCO store on Chandler Road and Dobson Road
the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month from 11am - 3pm.
Our
love of animals, especially cats, is what prompted us
to combine our talents and provide a needed service
to our community and to the animals we so dearly love.
During our first year of rescue, we have found homes for
over 500 homeless kittens and adult cats.
Many
of our cats and kittens are taken from the euthanasia
list at the pound. We have also rescued cats
from behind restaurants/businesses, in ditches, at
worksites, in people's backyards, from the middle of
the street, or in the desert. Homeless cats are
everywhere and there is no shortage of cats that need
our help.
Our
mission is to rescue HOMELESS cats and place them
into lifetime loving homes. In order for us to
remain true to our mission, we are concentrating our
efforts on homeless cats only.
